David is an American born artist working in New York City & Taos, New Mexico. David's interest in the arts began at an early age working primarily in sculpture and painting. His interest in photography developed in his early twenties while living and working in Europe and the Middle East. Upon returning to the U.S. David attended Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California studying with many great contemporaries of the time. David graduated with honors, (BFA 1981). David & his wife moved to New York City in 1982. In 1984 he opened his New York studio and began a career photographing landscape, environmental and fine art projects as well as commissions for Pepsi, Mercedez-Benz, Seagram's, American Express, Lancome and others.
David is the 2009 recipient of the Sony World Photography Awards L'Iris D'or Grand Prize for his work in the deserts of the southwest U.S.
David's studio in Taos, New Mexico was built to LEED certified standards for sustainability. His studio is entirely solar powered, uses catchment water and is passive solar heated.
